I was a little nervous to ring customers up at first. Our mentor showed us how to use it and what to say to the customers and then told us that we would eventually be using the cash register. I instantly got anxious about the thought of doing it in the future. About an hour later they had me ring a customer up by myself and it went very smoothly. It was cool to overcome something that I was a little nervous about.
Another moment was the time that I gave a customer the "paint spiel". I get anxious about talking to strangers so I usually just like to keep to myself and do the tasks required of me. However, you have to help customers at the Hot Spot. One day a customer came in with her kids and they had never been there before. A part of our job is to give customers an overview of how everything works so that they can get started.
