Year Reflection
Struggles
I have struggled various times throughout the semester with understanding concepts (even ones that I had been taught before and never really understood.) Some of these concepts include: Parabolas, Exponents, Radicals, Etc. Confusion is not fun when it comes to math. Not understanding a problem or not knowing how to do it can be very frustrating. However, these struggles don't stop me. When I have a hard time with a problem or concept, I know that if I work hard to understand it and practice it, then I will fully understand it. One of the reasons that I like math is because the it is a great feeling when I finally understand something even if it was hard at first.
Precision and Accuracy
In math, I have learned that in order to understand and get problems right, I have to take my time and stay organized. If I am not organized, it is easy to lose my place or to get confused when solving a problem. I have found out that the best way to go about problems that looked complicated at first is to break them down/ simplify them. Then take the problem one step at a time. Staying organized is very important when doing this.
Future
I do not plan on pursuing a STEM career. However, I do know that no matter what job I have in the future, math will be involved (because math is everywhere.) I hope to continue to enjoy learning math and understanding it. If I become an interior designer, I will need a lot of math to make scale drawings and models, to strategically plan out a space, measuring, etc.
