The most valuable skills that I acquired prior to this externship were actually through my internship at Scout Design last year. I learned a lot about customer service and what it's like to have a job, which has definitely prepared me for my experience at the Hot Spot. I have also had the chance to practice speaking to people and making a good first impression through the many presentations and exhibitions that I have done at school.
The Hot Spot is a very creative place. During school, I have done many projects that required creativity. The biggest similarity would be the group work that we do. Most of the projects that I have completed in high school were done in groups and at externship we are constantly working as a team. The biggest difference would probably be the chaos of projects at school. Usually projects are loud and messy. The Hot Spot is very quiet and calm which I am not used to.
